Stunning restaurant extension for award winning Staffordshire wine estate

Nestled in the rolling Staffordshire countryside you’ll find the delightful Halfpenny Green Wine Estate. Wining & Dining has just got bigger and brighter thanks to a high-spec dining area extension, we caught up with estate owners Clive & Lisa to learn more about their exciting project…

About the estate

Stemming from a hobby in arable farming, the wine estate is now a thriving business producing world-class wines, a stylish restaurant with the wow-factor, wine and gin tastings (not together of course!), guided tours, wine festivals, a deli, a craft centre and not to mention Wild Zoological Park!

Although managing director, Clive, has at times found the English climate challenging, this has not stopped the south Staffordshire estate producing some truly superb wines to be proud of. The entrepreneurs have embraced the opportunity of offering visitors a range of attractions at the site to keep visitors coming back for more.

It goes without saying, AJG couldn’t have been more excited to be part of the recent expansion of the 30-year-old Halfpenny Green Wine Estate.

The restaurant extension

With the estate’s wine tours now 5 times more popular than in the early days, and English wine in much higher demand, the move to expand the dining area was a natural progression for the entrepreneurs. After meeting to discuss the brief, AJG knew it had to provide a solution that would wow visitors, something that would attract new customers and ensure existing and faithful clientele would want to return again and again.

Natural light is a favourite solution of ours when building single storey extensions, consequently the addition of a Eurocell Skypod ticked both the high-spec and high-performance boxes we were keen to implement for Clive and Lisa. The flat roof we installed bridges the two existing annexes seen in the aerial shots and provides the perfect space for the expanded restaurant.

MD Clive Vickers, left us with some great feedback which the team were delighted with:

“The team have been fun to work with while taking the responsibility of the project seriously. We are missing them being around. They seem to strive for perfection continuously.”

Naturally our first desire as contractors is to exceed customer expectations at every opportunity, we loved working on this particular project and are delighted to say we’ve been asked to complete further work on the estate.

With Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day coming up we can’t think of a better place to head to for an inspiring guided tour followed by first-class dining in the locally-renowned restaurant.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on the new restaurant over on our Facebook page.
